No. You must be a team of not less than 2 members. Either your team has a business idea that you are building a startup for, or you have an established startup not more than 2 years old.

Your team must be citizens in one of the 20 African countries mentioned in the Eligibility Criteria, which are: Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, The Gambia, Nigeria, Togo and Uganda.

You have to submit a link to your working prototype or product in the registration form.

Yes you don't have to submit an existing startup. You can choose "Team" in the registration form and apply. However, you must submit a working prototype link for your idea.

Your application will be reviewed and you will receive a reply after the registration closes if your startup/team was selected for next phases or not.

The Pitching will be online this year due to the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic.

An email with all details including the online business planning course and pitching schedule. Details will be shared with you once the results released.

The submitted applications as well as pitching will be judged on the 4 following areas

1. Innovation Originality/Creativity
2. Business Model
3. Art and/or Design of the Game/App
4. Team Competencies.

• Three winners for each of the two tracks: USD 12K, 8K, 4K.
• The other 24 finalists: USD 1K each.
• A real-time online business planning training will be offered to finalists by GrindStone.
• GTM program delivered by Thinkroom Consultancy for the first place winners and funded by Microsoft.
• VC introduction from Microsoft Network across Africa

Awards will be paid for the winners if the following three conditions are in place:

• First: At least one team member is AAL graduate or learner, who completed one month minimum before receiving the award.
• Second: Startup is legally established.
• Third: Team successfully completed the business planning course
